New Mormon Fiction with LDS Plot by CK Abbott

Last Entry First
By CK Abbott

Devoted journal keeper Annie Smith arrives in Seattle to find that everything she owns has been lost in a moving van fire. She starts a new journal immediately, which she dubs PJ (Pauper Journal) because it's just a simple spiral notebook. Annie knows that she could reinvent herself. She's in a new city, a new LDS ward, and a new apartment complex. With her husband and two small children, she tries starting over with nothing.
Fourteen-year-old Jane Watley wants to be a detective, and she spends her time quietly observing those around her, but her spying entangles her in a mess she wishes she didn't even know about.

Courtney Williams, running from habits that could consume her, meets a boy who seems to be able to see past the addiction and rocky past.

When these lives converge, all will be changed, for better or worse.

About Mormon Author CK Abbott

Out of Breath by Scott Brighton

Out of Breath
By Scott Brighton

"You see Quincy, I've got big plans. I am going to be a captain of industry and build up an empire. I am going to head up a corporation bigger, more powerful, and more influential than half the countries in the world. I'm going to be the top 1% of the 1%. The possibilities are limitless; the world is ours for the taking, and I want you to join me and be my equal partner."

I knew there was no chance I would ever be his equal partner. Martin was a dirty rotten, low-down, good-for-nothing, cheating sociopath, who would use me as long as it suited him, and then he would throw me under the bus without the slightest compunction and go find someone else to exploit.

But I told him yes anyway, because it would be so much easier for me to kill him if I got close to him; if I fostered his trust in me. My head was spinning, fueled by the adrenalin rush pulsing through my brain. The only thing I was certain of, was that Martin had to die. I was going to kill him for what he had done.

Out Of Breath, is a fast-paced thrill ride through a story of revenge, betrayal and deceit between two of the world's leading biotech drug developers caught in a desperate blood feud even as they discover a miracle drug which promises to revolutionize the worlds of science and medicine.

Return of the Mystic Gray by Steve Westover

Return of the Mystic Gray
By Steve Westover

Author Steve Westover is proud to announce the release of Return of the Mystic Gray,” which was released today. The book is the sequel to 2012's “Crater Lake: Battle for Wizard Island.”

Like its predecessor, “Return of the Mystic Gray” is set at Oregon's pristine Crater Lake and follows the exploits of Ethan, a pudgy and reluctant hero, and his band of misfit friends who are beginning to realize that their last Crater Lake adventure left them with inherited powers they don’t understand and can’t quite control. Though the kids live in different parts of the country, they are all drawn back to Crater Lake to resume their battle with the evil Chief Llao and hopefully find their lost friend, Jacob.

“Growing up in Oregon, I loved camping in the mountains with my fellow Scouts,” said Westover. “I even camped in the snow, cross-country skiing into camp and building snow caves. Many of those experiences inspired this book. Unlike the warm summer adventure the kids had in Book 1, they are now at Crater Lake in the dead of winter with miles of snow and frozen landscape. It’s beautiful, but treacherous.”

About Mormon Author Steve Westover
Steve grew up in Salem, Oregon, which prompted the idea for his Crater Lake youth series. He now lives in rural Missouri with his wife and four children, all of whom LOVE to read. Steve is a banker by trade and enjoys serving in his church.

Vickie Hall Shares Personal Family History in Inspiring New Novel

Journey of Promise
By Vickie Hall

Vickie Hall’s second novel, “Journey of Promise,” is the sequel to 2011’s “All That Was Promised. ”

Richard and Leah Kenyon, along with family and friends, immigrate to Zion in 1849 leaving their beloved homeland of Wales. With great sacrifice and faith they prepare for their journey, but are unsuspecting of the exacting toll asked of the Atlantic Ocean and the mighty Mississippi.

“Journey of Promise” explores the depths of commitment and love, especially when faced with life-altering events.

Hall hopes her new book will inspire readers with a faith-promoting story of struggle and triumph. Published by Cedar Fort Books.
